This is the South end of the Forum. Ignore the pasty bloke in the middle of the picture; well it was the first day. The building behind me was one of the tax collection offices at this end of the Forum.
At the North West corner is a storage shed for the various finds, these include two body casts. The one pictured and one in a case, which reflected the light too much so the picture didn't turn out.
This cast is called the Horse-Handler or Hostler as he was apparently holding a set of reins. Where the horse went I don't know.
And, lastly for the Forum, another picture of yours truly. Taken from the Southern end looking towards the surviving Arch. Note Vesuvius in the background.
The Large building behind my right shoulder at the North end of the Forum is what remains of the Temple of Jupiter(Tempio di Juno). Originally the six columns would have been about 12-metres high with a sloping roof. Two equestrian statues were stood either side of the stairs leading up the podium.
